Blending Acoustic Roots with a Mission to Inspire

Doug Segree is based in Annapolis, Maryland and has been actively performing for over 25 years, playing in venues of all sizes, festivals, concerts, corporate and private events throughout the country.  He is equally comfortable playing solo acoustic shows or fronting a band of any size.

The event band is all about a good time on stage and it shows. With a huge playlist to draw from (Top 40, Classic Rock, Funk, Motown, 80’s, etc.) and multiple lead singers, these guys really know how to mix it up and play to their audience.

His music is a blend of acoustic, rock, and pop influences, with a focus on heartfelt lyrics and catchy melodies.  Doug has written and recorded 10 albums of original music, spanning rock, pop and children’s music. He plans to release an EP in the fall 2023. He also writes and performs in the kids band, SQRRL!

Doug’s music has appeared on major network television and film. “Wonder Drug” appeared on Netflix’s All American, “Come Again” on ABC’s Cougartown, “It’s About Time” on TNT’s Rizzoli and Isles, and various songs on Cinemax (various films) and WB’s Felicity, among others.  Doug also has written a number of jingles for area businesses and commercials.

He is also known for his philanthropic contributions and donates his time and services to important causes.  He launched a project called SQRRL! Across America, which aims to bring music to children who are disadvantaged by illness and disability.  He donates his time and services to important causes like such as Annapolis Musicians Funding Musicians (AMFM), Celebrate Hope Foundation, Friends Foundation, Kennedy Krieger Institute, Make A Wish Foundation, Breast Cancer Foundation, and the SPCA. His music was used as the soundtrack for “Hope Through Motion,” a documentary produced by DHG Creative for the Kennedy Krieger Institute Spine Center.

Testimonials

“Picking a band for a wedding is one of the single most important decisions you can make! Yes, the venue and the food, flowers, etc are all important but if the band doesn’t get people up and dancing and having a good time – it’s a bust! So, we really wanted a GREAT band! I would like to say that we knew about Doug Segree going in to this. But we didn’t. We looked at probably more than 30 bands either on line or in person until a friend recommended we check Doug out. I (MOB) contacted Doug via email and he could not have been more helpful and responsive! We checked out his website, and he sent us links to his videos and music and we were really impressed. So, we went to see him play and we were sold!” – Teres

“Choosing the music was probably the most important decision we made for our wedding – both of our families like to have a good time and we knew that the band or DJ we chose would dictate the tone for the entire night. After deciding we wanted to go with a band, we got a recommendation to check out the Doug Segree Band and we were hooked! Doug offers a very extensive song list – many of which are songs that they play at charity and football events – and the band is very open to learning new songs that you definitely want to have at your reception. – Deirdre

“The Doug Segree Band is fabulous in all respects! Doug was great to work with throughout the process. The band is very talented, and the music was fantastic. The reception was on a Sunday afternoon at a county park, and Doug and his band helped create exactly the kind of laid-back, fun atmosphere we wanted. We heard enthusiastic compliments from numerous guests — everyone from age 3 to over age 70. The band had people up and dancing, and both those wanting to dance and those just wanting to hang out loved the mix of songs. We had many small children at our wedding, and we’re especially grateful to the band for not only being patient with the kids but going above and beyond to actively engage with them and help them, their parents, and their grandparents all have an excellent time. Our reception was everything we hoped for and more, and we appreciate all Doug and his band did to make our day so wonderful for us and our guests.” – Danielle

“I cannot thank you enough for the amazing music at our reception and keeping everything moving along so nicely throughout the evening. Just about every single guest came up to us to tell us how wonderful you were – and they especially loved the acoustic duo and thought it was a very nice intimate approach to our small reception – and I could not agree more. You completely rocked out the DMB – and that made my night! Your selection, timing, and personality was perfect for our crew – and I loved that you got Aaron up to play some Jack Johnson – what a special touch! We had quite a few people dancing that NEVER get out on the dance floor – I have the pictures to prove it ;). My family is now trying to think up an excuse for a big party so they can get you back to play for us!”- Jenn and Sean, Towson, MD
